Understanding Your AEO Score and Dashboard

What every number on your dashboard means, how your AEO score is calculated, and what to focus on first.

Your Dashboard at a Glance

Your client portal dashboard shows four key metrics:

AEO Score (0–100) — Your overall AI visibility score across six categories. This is your headline number. A score below 40 means foundational work is needed. 40–60 means good progress. 60–80 means strong visibility. 80+ means dominant.

Citation Rate by Platform — The percentage of your selected Prompt Targeting queries where each AI platform (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude) cites your business. Updated monthly after each prompt test.

Share of Voice — Your average citation rate across all four platforms. This is the single best measure of your overall AI visibility.

Score History — A chart showing your AEO score over time, from your baseline through each monthly snapshot.

How Your AEO Score is Calculated

Your score is the weighted average of six category scores:

| Category | What It Measures | |---|---| | Schema | LocalBusiness, FAQPage, and Service schema completeness | | Content | FAQ structure, word count, AI-extraction formatting | | Citations | Directory listing count and NAP consistency | | E-E-A-T | Author bios, credentials, reviews, trust signals | | Technical | Page speed, HTTPS, sitemap, robots.txt, AI crawler access | | Competitive | How your signals compare to your top 3 competitors |

Why Your Score May Be Lower Than Expected

The paid AEO audit uses a real website crawler — it finds gaps that estimates cannot see. It is normal for your first score to be lower than the free tool showed. That gap is exactly what we are here to close.

What to Focus On First

Look at your six category scores and find the lowest one. That is your highest-leverage starting point. Schema and Citations typically have the biggest impact per hour of work in Month 1. Content and E-E-A-T build authority over Months 2–3. Technical fixes are usually quick wins that unlock everything else.

When Does My Score Update?

Your score updates monthly when we run your AEO audit snapshot. You will see the new score in your dashboard within 24 hours of the snapshot running. Your account manager can also run a manual snapshot at any time if you have made significant changes.
